About Brian

Compass's Brian Dusseau has a simple formula for success as a New York City real estate professional: it is not about him, the client always comes first.

Brian is a skilled negotiator with a knack for spotting trends and value. Brian saw the potential of Long Island City real estate back in the late 90’s and purchased there in 1996. Active in the city market since 2002, Brian has consistently exceeded his clients’ expectations – whether buying, selling, investing, or leasing – by combining his market knowledge and expertise with VIP-level customer service.

“There is so much more to a sale than just the dollars and cents. This is a business about people, and people are complex,” Brian says. “It’s understanding where the market is, where it’s going and how it fits with my clients’ wants and needs. I make sure to listen closely to my clients’ goals, and then work to realize them in the marketplace.”

New York City real estate has a World Wide Market. Brian’s clients benefit from his understanding of how international demand for New York City properties affects the local real estate market, and he diligently keeps them up to date on how those global trends specifically impact their real estate holdings. In addition to his focus on residential sales in Manhattan and North Western Queens, Brian also assists developers on financing, pricing, layout and apartment mix as well as marketing and sales.

A New Yorker for more than 20 years, Brian was born and raised in Lake Orion, Michigan. He earned a BFA in Theatre from Boston University School of Fine Arts. Brian was an Internet Music Entrepreneur co-founding three internet music companies and was also an early adopter of Bitcoin mining. Brian is a member of REBNY and BNI Chapter 12 in NYC. Married with four children, he is a little league football and soccer coach and volunteer tutor in the HomeSchool Co-op his children attend.
